I am having some very strange problems.
Water-cooling my p5wdh (just processor for now, chipset has a zalman passive sink on it and is running at 35C, processor doesnt go above 25c at full dual prime load).

I haven’t started over clocking but I am having random crashes. I can run dual prime95 for hours on end (without an error), run 3dmark fine, run burin tests on every part fine. But if I try to just do regular computing it locks up (I.e. I could after 8 hours of no errors in prime click on the start menu and it would completely lock). I tried booting a ubuntu disk but it wont load (not sure if it relates to the fact that I am using a sata DVD drive), I havent reinstalled windows yet but I am running out of ideas on what else to try. Any suggestions would be appreciated (running bios 1101, thinking of going back). I have tried clearing the cmos and even left the battery out for hours (after putting it back I haven’t been able to get it to remember settings as every time I unplug it looses everything). I have also been unable to boot off of a bartpe disk, though I have been able to boot off of and back up using a acronis true image rescue disk.

As I am heading back to grad school this week fixing this asap is improtant and I am running out of ideas (outside of trying to reinstall windows, a bios udpate, or going back to stock cooling on the chipset).

Whats the problem just run prime all day and 3dmark... sounds good to me!!

J/K have you tried a bootable disk or cd with memtest 86 on it

The ubuntu disk had memtest and it ran without errors for several hours (until I stopped it)

Let memtest run at least overnight.
Also, I noticed that your setup has 7 Panaflo fans. Maybe you need some more fans!! :D

thanks aamsel, but cooling is not an issue and memtest has run fine for hours, also before switching to water the system was perfectly stable so I doubt the memory died in the switch (if any hardware is the likely culprit it would be the board but based on all the stability testing programs I have run I cant figure it out)

going back to 801 doesnt seem to have helped things

I have been having problems with ubuntu and my p5w dh aswell. It seems that the onboard network (both) disable themselves when a large amount of traffic is sent (tested using samba). This is pretty damn annoying.
