ok i have pulled my hair out all weekend with this board. i cannot get it to install windows. It posts fine recognizes all my hardware, but as soon as i go to setup xp it freezes, i managed to install it one time but it randomly freezes, i cant even get the drivers installed, that causes it to freeze. ive checked everything from timings on mem to voltages, even ran memtest for a few hours thinking maybe it was the ram. tested fine. i tried just the basic stuff i needed to boot disabled stuff i didnt need. all the same it freezes. my specs are as follows: any help would be great.

hmm thats strange, mine was a little unstable until i put a fan blowing directly on the northbridge hs.. it gets so hot its just silly.. that would be the first thing i would check.. you can also try different ram slots

north bridge isnt a problem i put waterblock on it. maybe it will improve with a bios update, when asus releases one, for now this board is a utter POS, glad i spent all that money on a conroe setup and the only thing it can do good is post

Maybe a little research prior to the purchase would have saved you some grief... I don't think anyone here recommended that board. :)

Every gut instinct on this forum, and many commentaries have warned the NF boards for Intel come with a "caution" sign.

I truly feel for you and wish this weren't the case. SLI would be very nice but it'll have to come on a 975 or not at all :(

I hope you are able to return it.
