I'm just wondering, I have ATITool running right now and it is giving me an idle temp of 63C idle and 75~C doing a 3D test. Is this too high for this video card? My friend says it's hot but I'm not sure if he knows how hot this card should get. Can anybody tell me if my card may be defective or if I should get a different cooler (it's stock cooler). I don't want to spend too much money as i'm broke because of my new system.

Please help.

No its normal temp for GC with stock cooling :) but if u want u can buy for example Zalman or Penthagram Cooler for your GC.
I have Zalman and temp in idle 41C, stress 58C.

Alright cool, just wondering if this is the issue with my BF2 rebooting my computer and repeating a noise. On newegg a person said they needed to underclock it 10MHz Core and 50MHz memory to prevent it from freezing up, so I just did that and i'm about to test it.

Just ran an artifacting test for 5 minutes and the max seemed to be 80C~ load and no artifacts after 5 minutes (probably longer but I aborted).

Hi, i have the same card IMHO those temps are hot... mine was at 49-51C Idle and 65C Load with stock cooler and AS5, and ambient temp was hot (32-35C). The clocks were 600Core/1600Mem

Now i have added a Zalman VF700 And AS5 and clocks are 625core/1700mem, ambient temp is 28-30C Cards idles at 45C / Load at 50-51C.

Hope that helps you.

*Edit: i dont use ATITool, i use Nvidia Drivers for temps monitoring, 91.33 from guru3d.

Hmm, just checked my Nvidia driver thing and it says 65C (idle) aswell. Does this mean my card is defective?

This is the card I bought: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130017
