View Full Version : P5B Deluxe + TT Big Typhoon - backplate won't fit
I am gonna assume you guys with the TT BT don't use the backplate for it?
Cause it won't fit on mine...
There's the little metal bits sticking out under where the backplate would go, so i can't imagine smashing them with the plate would be a good idea.
So just screws is okay for support in the back?

Depends on how much you tighten the screws. A few metal washers and cardboard washers would make a world of a difference.

yeah the bt comes with a foam pad to buffer that. cardboard would work too.
No, i just put some soft rounds on the screws and screwed it on, works like a charm
its in my computer, if i take any pics in my case, your not gonna see much, the heatsink iss too large........just fasten the screws from the bottom pointing up, then put the screws from the top, and fasten from the bottom intill all sides are tight and heatink is on tightly. good luck
Thanx for the ideas guys :)
I ended up just using some washers on the back, & it seemed to stay pretty damn solid with them.

just use the foam it doesn't matter if it covers the back of the board >>>>> actually Asus it looking a lot cleaner than GB DS3 which has all the small solder points sticking out on the back...........didn't get hurt with me using the TT BT on two of those boards with the backing plate and foam
Not the same board, but similar concepts. I was preparing a guide and have many photos. Would have published, but DQ6 since died.
Anyway, see pics for plastic standoff of appropriate size. Note problem with clearance to MB tray - resolved with plastic washer (1mm) on each MB standoff. Rear connectors still fit. Note additional problem - bolt heads touch MB tray (will fix with replacement M3 countersunk bolts to replace the round-head bolts supplied).
