I'm chomping at the bit for the G80 as well for a new computer build right now. I could care less about the DX10 performance actually, I want something faster than the 7950GX2 for DX9 stuff. I'm hoping that an 8800 or whatever it's called will be out shortely and will have at least 20-30% more performance than a 7950GX2 one-on-one then to build something out w/ SLI.
Otherwise I'll have to get a 7950gx2 which sucks and then do a evga swap to the higher cards. I just want to get > 30FPS in oblivion outdoors with everything enabled on a 2560x1600 display, why is it so hard.

you realize that pretty much everry game optimized for a unified shader architecture will be DX10... you also realize that there is a 20-30% performance drop on games which are nto optimized for it... expect similar performance at best.

Yup, but the G80 series does not use a unified shader only ATI does. So I would expect a performance increase (hopefully) from nvidia. DX10 does not require a unified shader per it's specs.

Last I saw it was supposed to be out 6-8 weeks before ATI's RD600. So when is the RD600 supposed to be released? I'm hoping that it would come out before the christmas sales season so I should be (hopefully) seeing the G80 by october?
