By novice I mean that I play games but not alot. I like playing the new ones and finishing them but after that they more or less hit the shelf.

I was going to get a X1900XT for $320 but:
- 7900GS is coming and it might just play all the games well until next upgrade.
- DX10 will be my next upgrade, probalby benninging of next summer...

Games I will be playing (on 19"LCD - 1280x1024):
Crysis (but it probably won´t be released until next summer anyway)
Cell Factor: Double Agent
World in Conflict
Any other games I should know of???

I have even thought of staying with my 6600GT until next summer as Crysis won´t be out til then. My Conroe, E6600, might give the Gfx some boost :)

Great, i´m all confudes now :( X1900XT, 7900GS or stay with 6600GT

If you live in the US, the X1900XTX is just as cheap as the XT on newegg.
Otherwise, I would just go with the XT.

I would overclock the XT anyways...so it wouldn´t matter, but thanks for the tip. I actually live in Iceland, but i´m going to Chicago next week, for one week, and i´m buying some things for an upgrade.

I might just get the X1900XT even though DX10 is on it´s way. The X190XT is priced at $590 here in Icelnad :slobber:
I would buy it at $320 in the US, then sell it here in Iceland for around $350 and then get myself a DX10 card next christmas or summer (I have a friend in the US that comes to Iceland 2 a year, so that´s why i´m kind of pressured to getting a Gfx card now or stay with my 6600GT until next X-Mas or Summer).

PLUS, the GPU block in my Water Cooling system won´t fit on the 6600GT (my first WC setup, only waiting for new mobo/CPU/GPU) so I "have to" get a new card...hehe

Just wich one.
