BF2 Weapon Upgrade?

Im just getting into BF2 and have about 200 points. Does anybody have any suggestions on what weapon to upgrade too? I am thinking of upgrading the spec ops m4 to the g36c. Does any one know if this is a good weapon?

What weapon you should upgrade first depends on what kit you use the most. If you're SF the most, then by all means upgrade the SF weapon first. As for how good the G36C is, I dunno, i've upgraded it, but only because I had the other guns already, but I do use the medics G36E a lot, and it's a great gun, dunno how close to the G36C it is but. They keep lowering the points required to upgrade, so don't stew over the upgrade choice too much, it won't be long before you get to upgrade another one :banana:

I can't stand the medic gun. You guys are talking about that weird gun with the pointy reticle right? Hate it.

I'd do SF. It is a much better gun.

I don't like the upgrades too much. I prefer the special forces pack guns a tad better.

The medic, assault, and SF guns from that pack r nice.

I don't use sniper so i dunno.

I think you're talking about the LA81 or what ever it's called, that's the first medic upgrade, the G36E is after that one. It's much better :banana:

Well, I earned the upgrade and I think im goining to go ahead and upgrade to the g36c.

I personaly just got the game like a week ago (deluxe edition) and play SF pretty much exclusivly since I like how more of the fights take place on foot man to man, of the few BF2 maps I played the game was totally tank and air combat and for me as a sniper I was totally usless.

So here is my personal overview of the weapons I have so far.

I got sniper first, because depending on the team you were on you eather had the very very nice bolt action rifle or the "horrible" semi auto.

I admit the semi auto has its moments when its nice, but as a sniper who wants to kill sombody in one hit from a distance it was horrible.

So your unlock is the M95 a 50 cal rifle that puts a hole thru anything it hits. 95damage to sombody anywhere they get hit from it and can go thru glass on a chopper (wait till you kill a chopper pilot mid flight...) the SF unlock is the L96 wich is like the M24 is very accurate but has the damage of the M95 ^^ (with no armor piercing tho) I only used it one time as BF2 just doesnt like me and since I dont like driving around in a tank or chopper all day (if I can get one) I play special forces.

There there was the unlock for assult, I say its a great gun for close quarters with iron sights but very high accuracy per shot and high damage its a real killer, but dont be fooled by its high accuracy rating. In full auto this thing sucks as it has a bad kick.

I have the first medic unlock... and I hate it!!! I cant kill anybody with this thing. It has a nice zoom scope so I thought it would be accurate but I feel like I am shooting a shotgun at sombody from range, and the scope sights are kinda odd. The 2nd unlock for medic is godly but I cant use it on SF but if your playing normal BF2 or your on the SF team that has this, medic can stand toe to toe against assult or spec ops easy with this.

Thats all i have so far as I am a SGT, I really dont know whats up with the first medic unlock its supposed to be really accurate but for me it sucks.

My favorite kit is a sniper but alot of stages are not very good as a sniper, and its in more than one FAQ/Game Guide that sniper is probably the worst class in this game. (I must agree while you can get alot of kills, a snipers stealth is his strong point wich is non exsistant when UAV and Commander scans are constant and while everybody else is out there racking up kills your hiding away not making any points just to have some guy kill you when the commander scans. I notice snipers fight snipers, its like a personal ware that goes on while the foot troops are doing there thing)

I love assult tho and make good use of my flash bangs and grappling hook.

Now I just need to work on my vehicle skills, and learn where to shoot a tank for that 1 shot kill that they always do to me.

How do you actually unlock the gun
? I have 244 global points and made Lance corporal (whatever the first promotion is) but I can't figure how to pick the upgrade gun.

It looks like you can play around with some of the upgrade guns "free" if you have special forces expansion pack.

Yeah the assault gun that looks like the OICW with the flash bangs is nasty.

The level 3 special forces kit upgrade is pretty nasty too. That gun (SCAR-L??) seems unusually accurate even on full auto

I think that will be my first upgrade path. Too bad the level 2 special forces weapon is worse than the M4 :confused:

After I get the SCAR I think I will go for the anti-tank kits because I find myself wishing I had the rocket launcher when faced with LAV-25s. How good is the P90 relative to the MP5. Does it have the scoped view or iron sights?

For all those complaiing about the first medic gun being poor. Try using it at close range that is where its mose effective. I took out a sqaud of 5 people 1 at a time in the surburbs using a combination that and the f2000, i was lucky though. But that first medic gun is powerful as hell.

Im not sure if it was made for sniping or not but its definately powerful in close range. Maybe you guys should stick with th g26e anybody can use that one easily enough.

The aim on L85A1 is off, but if you get the hang of it you can do some serious damage. I have both the L85A1 and the G36E and right now I prefer the L85A1.

My second favourite upgrade is the AT gun. Primary one is useless.

People here are suggesting BF2 SF upgrades.. which you can only get if you have an SF key tied to your account and you have played at least 1 round of SF. I bought SF just for the weapon upgrades. F2000 noobs were annoying me.
