I'm using nLite to install all my stuff since I don't have a floppy drive to install SATA RAID drivers. So, I slipstreamed all my stuff that I want, however, I don't have anymore CD's to test out my stuff. I'm wanting to know if it's possible to use my 2GB USB Key Drive to install Windows from there, since my motherboard is capable of booting from the USB.

I've heard of using tools such as HP Format Utility and HP USB Boot Key Utility. Each formatted, and tried to slap in the ISO, but I got nothing.

I talked to nn_step, who said to just add in the iso, but that didn't work either.

Any help is much appreciated.

Try this (I honestly did not read it, just googled it)

Already have all that stuff man. Sure, can make it bootable, but it's not the right stuff I believe. Good effort though, thanks!

Use Microsoft Virtual PC to test your custom made installs, saves discs and time. Then get at least one Rewritable disc to test with once you've got the install the way you want it. The iso created by Nlite will also work on DVD discs, this will allow you to put a bunch of extra stuff on there for post install or anything else for that matter. It's handy to have some of your regular must haves on hand right after the OS install.

what about trying it a different way? make the thumb drive bootable to a dos prompt but then have the image unpacked onto the thumbdrive as well and just start the install from the folder the data is in? would that work or am i overlooking something basic? wouldn't everything requirede for that be part of making the thumb drive bootable?
