hello guys, here is the brief explanation about how to obtain the 500 fsb onto the great Asus board ,

p5b deluxe for only on decent air cooling.
Actually, if you don't mod, then it won't be the big deal as well. Am I serious,? yes. let's see.

let see the picture and mods.

about the mods, very important, if you mod the vdroop, you gotta mod hte vcore as well to ensure

the vcore stable.
1. let's get everything ready.

you will need a nice cooler and fan: The NH-u12 and panaflo

A good cpu can handle 500 FSB without pain ( I am lucky that I got couple L624a610 x6800)
OF course a P5b dx with " 0505 or 0507 bios)

ok now, let see , before that, here are some drawbacks that p5b dx got:
A. it is still not supported by clock-gen, so you will need to boot it from BIOS
B. memset 965 can't be used, cuz once I change any timings , whole system freeze

Under bios: Vcore depends,
the key points is mch need 1.65v
FSB termination volt do not use over 1.4v
SB volt need to be around 1.7v

so let 's see the simple super pi 1m 4g , 8x500, ddr1000 4-4-3@ 1.54v vcore and 2.3v for vdimm

how about 8m?

from the ready to run;); see that vcore is 1.54v?
not showing how strong my cpu is, but it's the point that you need to mod the vdroop and vcore

together , you will see during the run, vcore will NOT drop but raise .:D

so for 32m, all you need is raise some vcore and run it. Hope this helps.

Thanks Jason and OPB. Any chance of getting some close ups of the Vc mods solder points? Some VR resistances that were used would be nice also ;)

BTW: Mind asking' Kev' if that "any timming" by accident should be Ras To Cas or Cas ? ;)
He should try the others without messing with those two.

Could you please re-explain that question? I'm stumped and so is OPB. :confused:

Edit- Sort of have an answer. Supposedly P5B Deluxe wont let you adjust those timings in Windows.
Its said Memset 2.2beta will let you do it, but its hard to find :confused:

Try to change precharge :)

I think there is no such app can oc under windows for P5b deluxe, that's OPB just told me

By the way, we don't say "Taiwanish", the correct is Taiwanese!

great what about vdimm mod and MCH mod >>> aren't they the important ones for high FSB

what was the max FSB before these mods

any chance of an actual mode close up shot rather than blank points..........would be appreciated if possible :)

Wont affect max FSB, but max freq.. :)
Just allows higher multi with higher FSB.. :p:

Anyways, can anyone tell me if the vdroop/vcore is worth it?

It looks to be a tight mod and im only on air here, so i would only use it to stabalize volts... but is it neccesary?

I guess it is now since you hit 4 gig :) .
