changing ram timings on DS4 possible?

can't see anywhere in the bios to change ram timings.
got a ds4, E6600 and 2gb ballistix which is freezing in memtest. the ram passed memtest fine in another system.
Last week I built a system using these same componants which ran fine straight out of the box too.
crucial advised checking the timings but can't see anywhere in the bios to change them (bios F3) - can anyone tell me how to change them??

Press Ctrl+F1 in the BIOS to enable more options such as memory timings! (try searching or reading FAQs before making new threads).
