My XP-90C doesnt work with socket 479, so Im looking to get a new one that does. Anyone know any 120MM HSF's that work with socket 479 ?

Thanks

This motherboard uses the Socket 478 retention bracket. You can use any standard P4 cooler. I've had luck with my Zalman 9500 :)

I'm using the Thermalright SI-120 with the Aopen YDG board.

What about Scythe Coolers? Can I use them with the Aopen?

Thanks

Anyone replacing the stock Aopen HSF should use a P4 IHS on top of their Yonah/Merom. It makes things the right height level when mounting aftermarket coolers and is much safer especially if you switch coolers often.

And yes, my Scythe Mine works perfectly with my Yonah + IHS

does a normal boxed Yonah or Merom have an IHS?
Can I use an Scythe Ninja on a Merom or Yonah without an IHS?

Thanks!

I am using Zalman 9500 CPU heatsink. It looks great.
With arctic silver 5, it idle at 24 C core temp at clock speed of 2.8GHz.

If i use the powermaster, it will go even lower.

It is not too heavy for such a big heatsink. I love it.
