Hey guys, im pretty much stuck @ 400mhz max in bios any higher and it wont post, i can do 413FSB in windows with no trouble, any higher instantly locks. I've tried everything in the DS3 FAQ's... well everything but different ram(dont have any) Im watercooling my CPU/VGA/Chipset so heat isn't the problem. BTW i've tried all the bios' im currently using the F4 bios. Any ideas guys, or am i just @ my limit???
Thanks,
Lt

Have you tried it without increasing the chipset voltages?
My DS3 will do 500 FSB without any voltage increases except Vdimm and Vcore.
Try setting your RAM to SPD auto settings and on a 2 multi to try and count it out for now.

Im stuck at 390 :(
- Tried different ram, 2x 1g, 2x 512m and 4x 512m, same limit
- Disabled every possible thing on the board that could be limiting my o/c
(legacy usb, EIST, C1E, etc etc)
-Tested ram limits (all run @ 450+ no problems with > 2 ram multi)
-Several different vga cards
-Several bioses
-Several voltages (core 1.3v - 1.6 v, ram 1.8 - 2.4v, vgmh, vfsb, etc)
I think the good ol' spirit of gigabyte has come back to haunt us
(some board overclock really well, others terribly), so i think im going to sell this thing and get the DFI infinity 975X...
why?
-Its cheaper here than the DS3
-Crossfire/sli
-Even people with issues with that board get similar fsb to me
-There is hope... Oskar looks to be working on a killer bios for it :D
It is not the board but cpu, sorry
Example,
6300 air fsb max 497
6300 single stage fsb max 520
Board has problems but only above 500 1:1

So you think a different 6400 might change the fsb limit?
Yes
You might try it with extreme cooling though or different board for testing if you have easy access to it

you can try this : http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=111400
It`s a little tutorial how to boot up with ram spd settings, take a screenshot of the settings in win with memtest, reboot, take the ram to tight timings in bios and then boot and change the ram settings to the screenshot with the tight timings. Maybe it helps :)

Can someone with an overclock over 400fsb be able to post pictures of thier bios so that I/we can learn from them?

with my older DS3 (RMA) i could only boot 395 FSB too , but with this new DS3 i rceived i already run 431 FSB (didnt try more YET) .
i have F4 Final bios >> EIST DISABLE , C1 DISABLE , you must have ram dividor 2.0 ( if set AUTO you cant run more than 340 FSB ) , PCI-e set to 100 , ram timings set manually and all voltages default except Vcore :D and Vdim :D , and thats all :
E6400@3450mhz @ 1.47v // Gigabyte DS3 (F4 bios ) @ 431 FSB //Teamgroup 2x1Gb Pc 5300 @ 431Mhz CL4-4-4-12 @ 2.2v

i turn off c1e, thermal control, EIST, usb legacy support, then i ctrl f1 it, set vcore to 1.38, vmch to +.3 vdimm to +.4, vfsb +.1 PCI-E freq 100, mem divider 2,

So you think a different 6400 might change the fsb limit?
With my E6400 I can do easy 465x8 max stable. Vcore 1.55 on chiller.

Well, after messing around with all the different configurations in the bios and flashing my bios a couple of times, I still cant get past 400mhz. Im about to RMA my board. But, before i do, could putting a fan on my NB or SB help me overclock further. Is that what could possible be holding me back or am I just crazy. Any feedback would be appreciated.
90% it is not the board's fault but cpu + this board, at least till 500fsb
I've tried 3 cpus already and each of them had different FSB wall on the same board, same hardware
Can someone with an overclock over 400fsb be able to post pictures of thier bios so that I/we can learn from them?
