So i just got this today, and haven't really gotten down to tweaking but here's what a few novice hours have gotten me.

http://webpages.charter.net/aari/1stimp.jpg

voltage is set to 1.4v in bios, but reads that its set to 1.38 in easy tune.. ?..?
mch is + .2v
ram is +.1v = 1.9v. Haven't checked actual.
Patriot 2gb LLK 667 @ 860mhz.

Heat is really starting to scare me. Its stable, but i dont like the 65c load temps. I plan on lapping the IHS soon though. I've got ym rad fans @ 12v, but hopefully, i can turn them down to 5v after lapping. Also, i need to flip my apogee around the RIGHT way. Right now water is exiting right on top of the core instead of entering. But i still think the craptacular IHS (can you say concave?) is more responable for the temps. I'd say there's probably .1-.2mm of paste between the block and the IHS, and thats not cool.

DS3 bios is F2. I haven't had any problems with it, although i haven't tried a 500+ fsb test yet, may do that tonight @ work.

Its prime stable, and i can't believe how much snappier everything is compared to my opteron 144 @ 2.77 or my x2 3800 @ 2.7.

I had it up to 3.7ghz, but it think the board is really starving for power. The 3-phase power obviously isn;t cutting it, cause when i set voltage to 1.5v i would get droop down to 1.39 under load in cpuz, and 1.44v idle. Plus the mosfets and caps were getting HOT HOT HOT!!! I might try and put some sinks on em, but my apogee block is blocking most of the ones at the top of the board, so that will will pointless if i can only cool half. I've got a 120mm blowing on my 1900xt and kind of half on the mosfets. It seems to be helping temps a bit.

Other than that, i think this board will hold me over nicely until RD600.

yeah, this board is really my limiting factor right now. Max posting fsb was like 475, and right now im @ 460x8 = 3680, and individually each core is initially prime stable right now, but together, hell no. I begin to hear that HIGH pitch, i guess capacitor noise, telling me something can't handle the requested power, and both instances of prime fail instantly. I've got 1.5v set in bios and its 1.44v in cpu with 1 core loaded... but then mysteriously goes to 1.213 idle.... easy tune says 1.46v load, 1.49v idle.

I'm just going to hold down @ 3.4 until rd600. This was a fun test.

Oh also my psu is a Silverstone Zues 650, 12v rail @ 11.79v, 5v @ 4.98 read with multi meter. Dont want to get courageous and check 3.3v on the board, but easy tune reads 3.28v. So psu is not my problem.

and a couple more updates

Did a semi suicide... 1.5vcore got up to 3848, no load. mch +.3v
Stock voltage yeilds me 3328mhz, mch +.1v, prime stable so far. Temps 60c
Ram is @ 1040mhz 4-5-4-10 2.1v, stable so far.
here's a couple screenies.

Very nice, so far my E6400 is insisting on 1.45v to hit even 3200 - 400 x 8. Thats the highest that has been orthos stable for any amount of time. Anything more, and orthos crashes almost instantly. 430 and above reboots almost randomly, and I think 440 was the highest I was able to bench anything at. Nothing above 400 has been prime stable yet, tho 1.5v was the highest I've gone on volts so far.

I took off the HS today and looked at the ihs. seems to have a definate line around the edges, so it may very well be convex. That might acct for excess heat.. but I'm not sure if it'd have any effect on the voltage the proc wants. Taking things up slowly now and seeing what each level takes.

Melatin, out of curiosity, where did you get your conroe, and what week is it? a 25+?

Menlatin did you run superpi with other programs running at the same time? I am curious because I get the same 1m superpi time at 2.8 ghz. At 2.67 I get about 20.800 seconds.

how do you like Easy tune 5?? is that freeware? I would like to try that I have only OC"d in the bios in the past this looks easier.

ez tune 5 comes with the ds3, it is a gigabyte gui program for gigabyte boards

WOOHOO!!! Lapped my 6400 and now i'm getting 3.6 ghz !! its gone about 5 mins of prime so far. It failed @ 3.68 after a few minutes, and 3.64 after abuot 15 mins. Maybe this one will stick. Temps are 66c load @ 1.5v bios, 1.424v cpu-z, 1.44v easy tune, all load volts. I've got my fans cranked to 12v though. And my ram is only @ 910mhz, 4-5-4-10 2.1v. Not sure if i'd rather have 3.2ghz and 1000mhz ram, or 3.6ghz and 910 mhz ram. I still need to play with timings more to see what i can get out of it @ 910. Also, the board didn't seem to like 2.2vdimm.

The dual spi post was during dual prime and about 15 things in the task tray.
i think single spi was aroung 17.5-18s. Right now @ 3.6 i get 16.454. I need to play with timings alot more.

I think its weeks 25. It had this on it L625A429, that is before it got a lapping.

Like i said, this is my 1st day with this setup, so i've got alot of tweaking and playing to do. And i REALLY need to do the vdroop mod.

here's a quick screen.

The DS3 seems to be a good choice for overclockers.

after reading all these posts, ive realized i have a very strange CPU, i get 3200Mhz, with 1.280 in bios, 1.248 loaded in orthos, stable for a few hours at least, i had to game, so thats all i could wait for :). i tried crankign it up to 3400Mhz, bootable, not stable. ALSO, increasing volts up to 1.375 didn't seem to help, but temps SKYrocketed, kinda scared to do 1.4v's, but who knows. ram, ocz gold 5-5-5 @ DDR 800 4-4-4

^^ sounds like another case of craptacular IHS. Lap it if you dont need warranty.

I Finally did the vdroop mod, and i'm not sure if it was a good thing or bad. the droop is gone, yes, but now it seems much less stable. I'll have to spend another day testing each combination of EVERYTHING. I really wish i could cool the mosfets better, cause i dont think a fan over them is cutting it.

Also after the vdroop mod, i hear the capacitor hiss pretty much all the time. I'll give it a couple more das of abuse, and then just bring it down to 3.3ghz til rd600. Its still crazy faster than my a64's. And encodes dvd's 45% faster !!!
