which to buy for ~300$

it is just a simple poll between 2 cards that i am going to buy one of them after 24hours


both costs 320$

[1] eVGA 512-P2-N568-AR Geforce 7900GT KO 512MB

OR

[2] SAPPHIRE 100149L Radeon X1900XT 512MB

i don't care about heat or noise since the card will be watercooled

i prefer nvidia for better driver support and linux support while i hear that Ati has a better picture quality specially in games


will this overclocked 7900GT with 512 be able to beat the X1900XT cause if the answer is yes then i will buy it for sure, if not i will buy the X1900XT

as i said heat a nd noise is not an issue :)

from the reviews @ xbitlabs, anandtech and others i saw that even an O/Ced 7900GT ( but with 256 of ram ) can't reach the X1900xt

so the question is , will the 512mb version be able to reach the X1900xt or should i stick to X1900XT for now

Invite some friends over...cos that kind of setup has the potential of giong for 14k single card 24/7 easily...4,000 points higher than the maximum the 7900GT will ever achieve with the same cooling.

3dmark isn't everything, infact it's very little.

x1900XT by far. You get far better image quality and performance.

About drivers, I thought the same thing until I tried the new nVidia ones with the awful control panel. That's even worse then the ATi CCP so it made it easier to give up nVidia for better IQ.

I agree the vmodded GT will easily meet the X1900XT. But if you don't want to mod, get the X1900XT, I've heard good things about it.
