Hello guys, first of all this is my situation at the moment:
7950 GX2
and a single Barracuda .10 hd with 2 partitions, consider that it slows my systems cause i uso the same hd for storage games downloads and os.
This is the situation now, i've sold my videocard and got exactly 520 Eur.
Now i'm thinking to do 3 Different Things to complete my PC, and i would have some suggestions and considerations by you.
1) With that money i come back to a X1900 XTX (that i will pay just 320 Eur) which is not as fast as the 7950 GX2, but still kicks ass and i want back ati filters + HDR and AA support. I Buy a second barracuda .10 using that for storage, so i can speed my system up a little i thing, and i buy a x-fi xtreme music to have a good sound card instead of the onboard one, so i could complete my pc at the moment.
2) I Wait till september and i buy a X1950 XTX which will be in a good ipothesis as fast as a single 7950 GX2 but i will still have back ati filters and hdr + aa support. I will also buy the barracuda to free my first hd from the slow partitions, but i couldn't buy an xfi soundcard.
3) IF IT'S POSSIBLE, doing a crossfire without a mastercard, i would renunce to both the second barracuda and XFI to get 2x x1900xt and have finally a crossfire system, i would have a faster and better video solution, but i would renunce to the x1950 xtx testing and stuff and also to the second barracuda and the x-fi.
What would you do guys?
Actually i think the second choice is the most reasonable one, also because maybe i can get the X-Fi from creative since it sponsors my team, but at the moment i'm not sure of this. So i would have the x1950, the barracuda and the xfi in the best iphotesis, without spending more than 50 eur.
But, if it's possible to do a crossfire without a master crossfire card which costs at least 450 eur, i could just buy two x1900 xt 299 eur EACH, and this is another solution i would like.
I dunno anything about the crossfire without master card, but i've just read something around the web.
