I am amazed by the overclock potential of the Asus P5B Deluxe, air cooled, without any mods the motherboard goes up to 530 FSB on the Allendale

Setup
- ASUS P5B Deluxe WIFI-AP Edition no mods at all :)
- E6300 retail
- Tuniq Tower 120
- Corsair 6400C3
- Tagan 900W

Photo :
http://pedrorocha.planetaclix.pt/AsusP5Blx_fototower.jpg

Some results :

http://pedrorocha.planetaclix.pt/Everest6300_3700_MemRead.jpg
http://pedrorocha.planetaclix.pt/Everest6300_3700_MemWrite.jpg

The limit may be the memory (maximum VMem = 2.45v) ..

Next I will test with some Conroes - E6600 and maybe the 3DMark oriented X6800 ;) and let you know the results

I'm only doing 410 fsb on my E6300, I can't even pass 422 fsb without it locking up instantly. Nice clocks *Jealous*

i have tested this mobo with my X6800 and bios 507, booted at 3.98 with air cooling but i never achieved something with these things. Why ? very unstable, doesn't work correctly.
used pc28500 corsair, and show for example a lower speed on bios at boot tanh the one adjusted in the bios, and when i tried high freq windows and some prog showed me 4.180 or 4.8 GHZ !!!!! crazy !!

2 images from test
Memtest show 4.8, real speed is around 3.8 (windows showed also same speed, sandra, but CPUZ was ok

the other: bios indicate PC26400 and corsair was adjusted on pc28500

many pb and bugs......:stick:

Yes, could you please post your various settings, and load temperature at that speed please. Im building the same setup for my brother with teamgroup xtreme memory and would be interested in the results.

thanks

Looks like I may get this board instead of P5W DH when I take thd dive into Conroe

I had decided against 500MHz rated memory because it was a crapshoot with the mobo but if this is indicative of most P5W performance then I'll reconsider :toast:

Nice - what voltage is that?

Per Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Core_2#Allendale),

Allendale is a codename for stripped down versions of the Conroe processors with only 2MB of L2 cache. The E6300 (1.86GHz) and E6400 (2.13GHz), both with a 1066MT/s FSB, were released on July 27, 2006. At launch time, Intel's prices for the Core 2 Duo E6300 and E6400 processors were $183 USD and $224 USD each in quantities of 1000.A distinction without a difference (other than cache).

Thanks pedro, for helping here

notish when you push up the sb voltage it can get higher in fsb, strange becouse everything is disabled here , you got the same?

mij ram is holding me i think , need some others too try, , the 6300 chip is outstanding on this board , a 100% must be easy indeed

0507 solved the pci-e problem, 0505 it goes blank above 480

I´m at 530 benchstable, but performance drops a lot after 480 for some reason, and windows reads my clocks wrong like 425mhz after i pass the 480fsb.:(

spi is ok, but 3dmark is a lot slower, and expecialy bandwith get buged to like 360mb/s from 75xxmb/s in sandra and everest:(

lol...The Tuniq imo doesn't belong in air cooling...anything larger than a video card (in both width and height  ) should be called "cold" air cooling :p

Has anybody compared it to Scythe Infinity? I'd like the Tuniq just because everybody uses/wants it, but I swear the Infinity would be better :P Plus I hate that the fan is right in the middle.. But hey, if I can't get the Tuniq, I'll get the Infinity.

I would like to thank Mr. Pedro Rocha for this post.

It really helped me with my Oc'ing, I was unable to hit the 100% OC but 95% I think is good for someone new :)

Setup
- ASUS P5B Deluxe WIFI-AP Edition no mods
- E6300 retail
- Custom Cooling
- Kingston HyperX KHX6400D2K2
- Truepower 480W

Used the same volts but was unstable clocked down just 9Mhz = Stable :woot:
