Hey guys,

I recently picked up an Opteron 146 0540FPMW and OCZ Platinum Rev.2 TCCD. Ive got them prime stable at 290x10, 2.5-4-3-7, with 2.6vdimm (memtest stable too). The thing is, I cant for the life of me get this ram 300mhz stable. Ive tried 2.7vdimm and even 2.8vdimm. Im using 8/3 drive strength, but do u guys know of any other combinations that work well with tccd? These are my settings so far, got any suggestions?

move ram down to lower divider to make sure its not cpu crapping out

You could try 5.5 or 6 Read Preamble,
a higher Mal of ~9 might also help.
Playing with TRFC might help.
Do not forget to play with Idle cycle limit :)

With my TCCD 2.5-3-3-6 was faster than 2.5-4-3-7, even though I lost alot of mhz.

yeah go for 2.5-3-3-x and see what you can get on a divider.

i agree with this guy, use a divider and run 2.5-3-3

try decreasing your RP and TRC if you want to try 300 1:1

Try this... I topped that memory at 650mhz 2.5-4-4-8 but I really prefered 600mhz 2.5-3-3-5.

Most the optys topped at at 2.9 stable, I had 3 of them. One, I got lucky with is prime stable at 3.0 @ 1.44 v (for sale in the 4 sale forum). The other two would not prime higher than ~2920. Just the chip man, prolly nothing more you can do.

1. vdimm change to 2.65~2.7
2. tras to 6
3. twtr to 1
4.Tref to 100, 1.95 (not 3684, use the other lower one)
5.ICL to 16clks
6.DICC to enable
DS to weak if using 1104 bios then please use 5 or 7; DDS 3

is 33k in 3dm2001 an OK score for my opty at 290x10 and x1800xt at stock speeds?

i'm with dnottis, reckon the memory controller craps out. my 148 will run @ 273x11 1:1 but not pass prime.
Have tried many things including new psu but still no cigar.

luck:)

I think you are getting some good advice here. It is likely that you are on teh ragged edge with your memory controller. It is possibe that your memory is topped out as well. That 300mhz mark is an iffy thing form some CPU's and I have found most memory controllers just won't hang at that speed. 300,hz usually requires 2t as well. Give that a shot bud.

I've found that my 148 primes stable at 3ghz for a while until the heat builds up then it crashes - IMO you can go a lot further on water than air simply by having more volts/heat to play with.

the OC of an Opty is highly temp-sensitive - my own experience
just for tryin: Opty 14x usualy performs good at a 166 divider, try that, then put all your cooling to the max (max rpm on fans, open the window, etc ...) to give you the best temp and try its prime-stable max while watching the temps ... GOOD LUCK ! :toast:

BTW, I also own a Opty 146 CABYE 0540 FPMW. I cooled it with a AC Freezer, I could do 2950 MHz at 1.4V and 166 mem divider and I had MAL at 7 and preamble at 5 , it was a really good chip, I hope one day it will get a sub-zero OC session which it deserves

This man is speaking the truth here. Once the chip gets past ~52-53, you're going to lose stability in the programs you're running. My opty 148 CABYE would do 2900 if it stayed below ~50 in SuperPi, but when it went past 55, it would have to go back down to 2750.
