Right now I've got a 100GB drive that has served me well for about a year and a half. I use to really only game so it would suffice for gaming. However, I'm getting more and more into video editing, creating music video's, etc. and the extra space could really come in handy. I don't want a screaming hard drive, and I'd also like around 500GB's or so. Do they exist?

And RAID them? Is that really better than just getting one big one with a 16MB cache? RAID is latin for me, I haven't ever done it nor know the first thing to do to know how to do it. I've always just had one hard drive in my computers.

well that's what i would do. all i can say is that samsung disks are probably the quietest but afaik the 400GB one is a little louder than the rest.

http://storagereview.com/articles/200607/500_1.html had the WD RE2 WD5000YS come out on as fast, quiet, and cool. That particular model may even have a 5 year warranty like Seagate does.

Go with Seagate.
I agree. The 7200.10 w/perpendicular recording. It's very quiet and runs cool.
I have the WD5000KS (the NON RAID edition). Turn on AAM and it's very very quiet. Review of it here at SPCR (http://www.silentpcreview.com/article617-page1.html)
