DANG IT!!! mannn i thought it was going to be like the gx2 and have two gt's in one :(. well it probabaly is for real because that's hardly any difference and i wouldn't even bother buying it since the extra mem, as far as i know, hardly makes a difference. *sigh* how disappointing lol
EDIT: oh and i guess the HDCP but i'm in no hurry to get vista sooo...

me either, I'm just posting what I see coming down the tubes of the internizzle. it'll be a 1950 or 7950gx2 for me, I also had hoped it was a mid level dual core card.

i like the 20 pixel pipeline 7900 GS to replace my aging 6800 GS. only $199.

512mb 7900gt oced at gtx speeds for 299$... i wouldnt mind a pair of those.
Hm, it is a tad disappointing.
Mind you.. maybe a 7950GX1 might be on the Horizon?
I would have liked too see 7950GTX tbh.. one with 800Mhz Core and 2Ghz GDDR4 memory.
Would have been a good challenge for the X1950.
Pff.. X1900's are going down in price now.. and ATi's IQ is just getting better and better. :)

7950GT has only one real advantage over Xpertvision 7900GT 512MB Sonic, the HDCP support.
Pretty interesting card tough..
It seems fake to me. Any official word?

7950GT will be a nice card to OC becouse it will be made on 80nm i think...that's why it is clocked so high on the GPU and will be cool i guess because they still have that crappy cooling so in the end maybe it will be able to reach the same level of performance as the 7900GTX.
And there will be a 7500GT model, that's a conundrum to me....

whats the real deal here? is it to replace the 7900gt in NVIDIA's official lineup? or is it to slot right above it?

NO the G80 is still based on the 90nm build so there wont be more overclocking ability. Nvidia is only adding PP and Vertex/Geometry lines. This makes sense to take on the R600 for the time being while Nvidia works on a fully compatible DX10 card.
It doesn't make sense for Nvidia to put out a DX10 card w/o vista.

i just want to know how my gx2 will perform in crysis, cause i'll have my gx2 till g90 :(
I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the XFX version, as it fits my casemod, but now I need to find som kind of watercooling for it, anyone know if the standard 7900 block works? It's passive cooled, and thats no fun to clock ;)
