ok, so I have a 500w antec modular, koolance case, and 6800gto pcie. I need a mobo, cpu, and ram. cpu can be the $50 sempron on newegg, I just wanna get into am2 and can upgrade later. need a good mobo, 32x, and an available pci slot even when using sli. nforce chipsets only. need memory that will work with the mobo no issues. help me out here.

edit: needs a hsf too, im going air cooling.

thanks guys, nn step's recommendation looks promising. also, would a foxconn 939 mobo and a 3000+ venice with 512mb be a decent home theatre pc?

...you have a koolance case but your using air cooling...o.0? i don't get it...

EDIT: yeah that should be just fine for a home theater pc, you shouldn't need much, just add a 6 series graphics card etc. and you should be just fine. sorry i don't any advice on AM2, haven't been following it and won't until the 1000 series opterons come out

yep, even any 'ol 1.6ghz amd based processor. 'n movies don't take up much ram.

He can get the DFI UltaII-M2 for a 3rd of his Budget...

Do a nice Single Core AMD 64 and Grab 2GB of RAM all for less then 300.

I have an ATI HDTV Wonder that runs pretty slow in my current rig. I couldnt imaging it running any slower. regular Cable seems to work alright tho.
