got my xfx 7900gt's back after 6 weeks

the story goes :
on the 22nd of march i got 2 xfx 7900 gt's, they worked for 1 day, i tried everything, and even got a new 750w power supply to try. tried them in a mates pc, still no good. Contacted XFX and after 1 month of talking :banana::banana::banana::banana: that didnt help and that i had already tried, i gave them back to my supplier, they sent them back to xfx and yes found that both were dead. so 6 weeks later i have recieved 2 new ones (upgraded to vivo).
My question is should i put them in and bench them, or put my swiftech water blocks on and then try them? as they are just hanging in the loop doing nothing.???

I would actually sell them, the 7900gt series are so seriously flawed (read eVGA, XFX, BFG)that you will have a pretty good chance of having to send them in again.
Everytime you will have to pay shipping, eating up more money.
I left the 7900gt circus after 3 cards had passed.

From how things look with new stuff coming up you will get much less in a month or so.

Maybe not what you asking for, only my opinion as well...sorry for a bit OT.:D

My second card died on me a couple of days ago for no apparent reason :mad:

It will be a loooong long time (if ever) before I trust Nvidia with my dollars again :( :rolleyes: :slapass:

Nobody really knows I think.

But the simple facts that it's based on the same core and some similar components is quite enough for me to stay away.
But don't take my word to seriously regarding the 7950GX2, I really do not know much about that card.
