Is this safe?

I have attached fans on my Asus P5W DH - north and southbridges. Question is.. is it safe to attach them to the pwr fan1 and pwr fan2 connectors? they are rated at 5000 RPM but my Bios says they are spinning at 3000 RPM. The motherboard wont blow will it?

the fan connectors are for FANS, you're fine.

Your probably fine, your fans would be more likely to die. Just make sure they are at the normal 12V

40mm fans draw pretty much nothing...

asus claim the fan connectors on the p5wdh can handle 24a which is more than a 120mm delta I think.. ;)

Excellent thanks. They are diong a great job by the way, motherboard temps down from 52/54c to 40c.
