Is it possible to lower the multiplier on this cpu in bios or with software in windows?
My motherboard is Asus P5W DH.

both (I think, my chip isint in yet so I havent tried), you just cant raise it over stock (only the 6800 is unlocked up and down).

all the conroes/allendales have cpu multi lock
the core 2 extreme doesnt

AFAIK all conroe/allendale are unlocked downward from default multiplier to 6x

I agree...! Your motherboard needs to have support for it though.

6x500 Very nice!
How about the P5W DH Deluxe, does it supports lower mults?
I can't find it in bios and Ai Booster just crashes my Windows when I try to lower it...
