I've just installed an retai. E6700 ES Stepping B2. Updated bios to 1101 with a P4 530. No problem booting after bios update but in the bios I cant' change the ration multiplier. The cmos ratio is not there under cpu configuration. I have reflashed the bios and cleared the cmos and remove the battery but no change. Am I missing some setting in the bios?

Stepping B2 is retail, not an ES?

You sure you don't mean B1?

I checked the specs for E6700 number (SL9S7) and its says it's a B2 stepping at Intel website.

So aren't the retail C2D's just locked? My Pressler 965 which is multiplier unlocked works.

I think you need to have Speedstep enabled to change the multi on retail/oem Conroes.
