How can I reduce fan speed?

I've mod a sk370 fan to my vid but it's a high speed fan (about 4xxxrpm) so it make a big noise. Which software should I use to reduce its speed? I've tried Speedfan but nothing happen

You'll have to configure Speedfan to be able to control the fan speed ...

Did you try connecting fan to different fan headers?

How many 'speeds' does Speedfan detect?

Yeah. There're 3 header on the mainboard. 1 is for CPU fan. I've tried 2 other and have the same result. Speedfan also detect 3 Speed

All i have done are:
+ Go to Configure -> Speeds . Check all "automatically variated" box for 3 Speed (Speed01, 02, 03)
+ Go to Configure ->Advanced -> Choose "Winbond W83627THF at $290 on ISA". Set "PWM x mode" to "Manual PWM Control".
But still can't reduce fan speed.

In that case, it seems to me your mobo is to blame.

W83627THF should be able to adjust fan speeds, but it seems it was poorly implemented on your mobo.

W83627HF works like a charm on my NF8.

I'd suggest you to get a fan controller or potentiometers.

Uhm. I have an idea. Someone tell me that the fan with 3 wire (green, black, yellow - often CPU fan) can speed down if U<12V and max speed if U=12V. SmartFan function in BIOS and SpeedFan also use this way to control the fan. So i'm going to cut the brown jack of the sk370fan, and connect 2 wire (not sure black and green or black and yellow) to the PSU 5V line?

Yellow is tach (RPM feedback), black is ground and the 3rd one is power supply. I say 'the 3rd one' because in most cases is red, but you're mentioning green wire. Supply wire is the middle one on the fan jack, so make sure that's green indeed in your case.

If that's the case, to make your fan run @5V, connect the green wire from your fan to the red wire from PSU and black for fan w/ black from PSU.

oh so let's forget all the color then the middle wire always the supply for fan? and the left and right is ground or tach, right?

now I'm connect middle wire to PSU +12V and ground wire to PSU +5V And fan runs slower than before. Wow so I success?

Ah, i want the fan run with the voltage of 7 cause 5 is little slow ^^

get a variable resistor, solder it in between there, set it at will/fan speed you like. be done with it :)

Ok i've finished VGA fan. Make it works with voltage constant 7. Now i wanna talk about CPU fan, i'm going to control fan manual like this:
