My gigabyte 965 ds3 has this weird problem in that if I leave it all by itself for say 10 minutes it will diconnect from the monitor (monitor screen goes black and the the little light on the monitor goes from green to amber just like if a computer wasn't hooked up to it). I did check the CPU fan and case fans and they are still running while this happens. Now if I actually use it will continue to work for as long as I'm typing or touching the mouse.

When I called Gigabyte they asked me to check and see if it does this in the BIOS. It doesn't. I can leave the computer alone forever and it will not cause the screen to go blank like it does when its in windows.

So Gigabyte is now saying this is some Operating system/ video card incompatibility.

I haven't activated windows yet so I don't have any updates. I'm running the drivers that came with my powercolor x800 GTO driver CD. I haven't updated those drivers yet.

Does anybody know what the hell is going on with my computer? This is driving me nuts and I'm worried about damaging my mobo from always hitting the power reset button when the monitor goes blank.

Thanks! lol, you were right. Well I'll be damned that monitor shutting off after 20 minutes was the dumbest thing ever. I had to reboot every time it did. Now if it was a screen saver or something where i could get back in without rebooting that would have been different.
