I know i posted a topic on my ram like more than a week ago or something, but this time i have the pics to back it up so it should help way more.
I'm trying to get to 3.1ghz, but my ram is not really letting me, and if i'm going to overclock i want my ram going up in speed too, and not putting it on a 7/10 divider which would put the ram on a sub ddr500.
I did attempt a (340x9)=3060mhz so my ram was at ddr510 3-3-2-8@2.7. Computer booted right to windows and was able to run 1mb and 32mb super_pi w/o a problem. I then tried 3dmark 01 and was getting abnormally low frames and it would have like 5sec pauses every once in a while during benching. I then tried loosing up the timings to 3-4-4-8, and still the same result.
Heres some reference picks. I know the picks are my current overclock, but these were the same exact settings i was using for 340x9

Well, unfortunately, there is not much you can do and your BIOS settings look about right :(
Your "abnormally low frames" or "5sec pauses in 3D" are symptoms of very well known issue/glitch of higher clocked Infineon Rev.C chips, which your RAM is built with. Depending on a week of production, it can occur at 250-260Mhz or 270-280Mhz. In other words, your 2D stable clocks will be higher than 3D stable ones. It doesn't matter what memory vendor built your set, as long as it's Infineon Rev.C, you will experience that. You just have to get used to it...
If you search around in Xtreme Bandwidth section, you will find that everyone has been experiencing this, just a matter of lower or higher clocks. It appears that your set might be a bit weak, though. When did you buy it?

I bought it from cybersprinter.com and that was only because at the time these mushkins were a hot item, and they were sold out everywhere else. Do u think buying some different ram will do the trick? I was thinking along the lines of gskill, or ocz. It has to be a 2gig kit. What would concern me is whether or not i'll be able to just swap the ram with a different brand without reseting my overclock.

What do you mean, "without resetting your overclock"? :)
BTW, you can probably adjust few settings in there: TRC=7; TRFC=14; manually set Command Per clock to 1T; MaxAsyncLatency=9ns; DRAM ResponseTime=Fast; ReadPreamble=6ns; Dynamic Counter=Enable;
If you don't really have to, don't change RAM. If you want 3060Mhz, then you will need either 255MHz (div150) or 278MHz (div166). For the latter, you'd most likely need Samsung UCCC chips @ 8-4-4-3.0, although this is also not guaranteed with latest weeks of those chips - supposedly, they are not as good as they used to be.

Those adjust timings suggestions is great, but i really don't think i can do a read preamble of 6ns, with async at 9ns. That seems a little too tight, but hey i'll give it a shot.
Are these timing suggestions for my current overclock or for the 3060mhz overclock ddr510?

I have the same chips, but on OCZ Plat 4000 EB:
255 is REALLY bad. I can do 265 @ 2.59v, more voltage does not really help.
I run 250:200 divider, and I have a great memmory controler, so I dont really have the 3d problems others do.
270 was my max stable, but at higher vdimm.

Yeah i noticed that too, my ram doesn't like it when i put more voltage on it. So maybe i should lower the voltage from 2.7 to 2.6 to see how that goes. I'm currently running on the recommended settings that bachus recommended, except i didn't set the trc to 7 like he said. I didn't set it to 7 and kept it at 10 because whatever the two timings of tRas+trp= in this case for me 10 i didn't go below that.
I'm going to try with my current settings and go for 3060mhz to see if that helps. I can lower my tras timing, thats the only timing my ram will let me lower at these speeds.
So recap, shooting for 340x9 (3/4) divider ddr510 3-3-2-8@2.6v

:fact: Darn guys it was a failure. It booted fine with the settings i just attemped above. Everest and stuff ran fine as well as super_pi 1mb, but 3dmark frozed on me again. But i wasn't getting slow frames this time so i'm getting closer.
Any other ideas??" Is there any timings that i may need to loosen? Or is it just inevitable that my ram is just being a pos?
Well i'm back at ddr500, but i lowered the timings and they are 3dstable. I'm currently at 3-3-2-5 which i know isn't really any real world benefit, but looks good on paper:fact: I'm actually going to see how far i can get tras to go down. I've seen one person on the net somewhere doing 3-3-2-0 with this ram, but that person must had a good batch because it was ddr534.

Alright its been confirmed, i'm gonna get my (tccd) geil one s pc4800 in return when i trade my mushkins. When i had these sticks before i was very new to overclocking so i will definantly have fun tweeking the **** out of these. Hey maybe i can get it to run 1:1
Besides the current games i play don't need 2gigs o'ram. Down the road or so i'll end up buying another 2 gig kit.
