My MSI K7T266 pro
POS This board/chip combo originally hit 1726MHz easy now it has degraded. I got a new AGOGA 1800+ to try and 1610MHz was the max that it could do on this board. I tried that same chip on my KK266 and I can hit 152fsb but once I put some load on it it freezes. So now I have my AGKGA in the MSI board and I need to try to overclock it to at least 150fsb. If I ever get some spare $ I will get a new MB/PSU and hopefully break my 1800MHz barrier.
Well gotta goto work ;)

the 1800+ I have seen for some reason HATE FSBs above and beyond the 150ish mark....
I run the ASUS nForce board and can't get past 152FSB but the same board in IFMU's hands got to 172FSB using a tbird.....

I am thinking of an easier way to unlock XP's it uses wires but no soldering. I am hoping that it will be short proof and still be able to be RMA'd ;)
OK now I really gotta go to work

honestly I would send the chip to XTW (http://www.xtwerkz.com) and have it unlocked the right way! my XP was done by them and It truly is a professional job done on it!

I agree with JBELL send it to XTW, they did my 2000. Perfect work.
And very resonable price wise.

I would send it there but really if I sent it to them two things would happen 1. I would void my AMD warrantee and 2. I wouldnt have done it myself.

1. You'd just end up doing it yourself right? Void warrante right there.
2. It will work.

Also I am not FSB limited. I have unlocked TBirds that have maxed out my MSI board. So when my XPs stop clocking higher it is both a voltage problem and the fact that my chips will not go much further. Therefore I cannot see why I would spend the extra $ on a bum chip. Now, I understand if you do not have a steady hand and are worried about ruining your chip. But I am not.
I mean guys most computer vendors will assemble the parts you buy from them for just a few more bucks... but do you let them do it? Nope.
PS I am not dogging XTW in anyway.

thanks. Can I run Seti and Folding at the same time or will this somehow hinder results...?

You will find running both at the same time slows folding down quite abit. If you wish to do both try doing 1 unit to completion and then the other do a unit. Thats how i do a rig at work. It depends on if you have the time to watch the progress of each unit.
