Well I will try and make this short as possible.
I have a DS3 and a retail 6400, i HAD a pair of gold ocz pc6400 that WOULD NOT boot (lights came on but nothing came on the lcd) with this combo, so i went back and got temp ram to isolate the problem. Well the patriot 5300 stuff worked, so i need to find the cheapest ram at frys to overclock this thing a decent amount. Thanks for any suggestions and what i would like is 2 gigs of non ocz and around 200-250$

#1 erm erm the OCZ can boot its just you need to buy some cheap ram. boot up change the VDIMM to +.2 or +.3 and then stick in the OCZ ram

#2 buy a cheap stick of ram and boot into windows. install the new F4C bios linked somewhere here in the forums and then update and flash your bios . then stick in the OCZ ram and TA-DA

#3 get other rams like corsair or mushkin.

no the new F4C bios can handle the high 2.1V rams as i herad i'll be seeing it if actually work soon when i order my system which isn't anytime soon..
you can probably borrow or return the ram later on tho.
