I have this motherboard: Intel DP965LT
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813121035
It says it supports DDR2 800 but I'm looking at the Intel website here http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/lt/lt_mem.htm and it says this:
"The board has four DIMM sockets and support the following memory features: 1.8 V (only) DDR2 SDRAM DIMMs with gold-plated contacts"
I'm concerned where it says 1.8 V only, and all the DDR2 800 RAM on Newegg are 1.9V and above, so does that mean DDR2 800 won't work?
There's also a review on Newegg where it says: "To the person who wrote the review concerning that DDR2 800 memory is not supported, Intel fixed the issue where the system freezes if more that 2GB of ram are installed and added a workaround for memory error 46h in BIOS revision 0784. All memory of CAS latency 5 or higher have also been approved for use. However, there is the possibility that you could under clock the memory a little bit by increasing the CAS latency." So does that mean 1.9V RAM will work with the updated BIOS?
quite confusing
