I have a P5W DH Deluxe with a C2D E6600 (soon anyway) which sits beneath a Zalman CNPS7700-Cu.Specs are here (http://weyland.be/weblog/index.php/specs/).

For memory I have 4 DIMMS of 512MB Crucial Ballistix PC5400 @ 675Mhz with 4-4-4-12 timings.

If I'm gonna go overclock that E6600 (core, FSB and mem) to the highest possible stable frequency, will I be better of with faster memory? Something like PC8000 or even PC8500? Or will it make little to no difference in day to day performance (games, rip DVDs, etc etc)?

Does anyone here has the same Crucial memory, and how does it overclock?

I have some of those rams, they are very good for the money, though I have decided to upgrade to some PC8000.

You will always be better off with faster memory, but for day to day usage I would suspect that you will see little difference. I'm upgrading more because I like to bench once in a while, rather than to improve my 24/7 settings.

Max benchable I had out of the Ballistix was DDR900 4-3-2-8, max stable at ~425Mhz 4-3-2-10. Never tried anything above 450Mhz as it was my system max.

Apperantly there are fatbody chips on these DIMMs ...

Could someone verify this for me?

How much would they be worth if I sold them?
