I'm going to have to probably grab a new set of RAM this next week because this OCZ PC2-6400 Platinum XTC isn't working well at all on my Abit AB9 Pro. I've seen other users having trouble with this and the OCZ Gold on the other boards as well like the Gigabyte DS3 and Asus P5B Deluxe. What RAM are you using on your P965 board and how well is it overclocking for you? I'm looking to hopefully spend <$200 on a 2x1GB kit.

I know this is over your budget, but it is good stuff.

Yes, i've been looking at that RAM as well but i thought i've also been looking at some Patriot DDR2-677 that is suppost to overclock real well and sells for under $200 at Newegg. I got this OCZ for $149.99AR so i kinda have to have to spend $100 more for the same amount of RAM to get something good that works.

What about those 2x512MB 3-4-4-8 modules? Don't they use the same good chips? I might could try 4x512MB and it shouldn't hamper the overclock too much as long as the memory plays well with my board. It would also enable 4-way bank interleave.

Yes the 2x 512mb is the good stuff too.

What about the Corsair TwinX PC2-6400 5-5-5-12 stuff. I know the Corsair CAS 4 stuff is better but this is only $177AR and it should be able to do at least 900MHz at CAS 5 with probably 2.2-2.3V shouldn't it?

What kind of problem you have with your Platinum XTC ? I have them on my P5B and they work perfectly. Might need a stick to set setting first, but beside that it's great memory.

What problem am i having? I can't run two sticks together period because it wont boot and with a single stick it's not stable once i start to overclock the FSB very far.

What volts have you set?

What volts have you set?

Volts isn't an issue. I've tried a lot higher volts then it needs.

I ordered that Corsair you linked, the CAS 5 XMS2. All of my items won't be here until next week, but when I know how well it works out I'll make a post. I think (and hope) it should do well.

I got the Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4 DDR2-800 EPP (http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=85025-6) for my P5B DX and since that I don't have a Core 2 Duo yet, I tested them in my P5WD2-Premium and they booted at 4-4-4-4 2.1v doing 800mhz and according to the CPU-Z's timings table they can go as high as 1066mhz but I can't remember what were the timings recommended.

I also red a review where the modules did 1066mhz with a 4-4-4-15 and a 2.3v. I like Corsair XMS2 RAM only. But the G.Skill BHZ stuff is also good.

I'm running the patriot 667 on the AB9 Pro. It'll boot, work fine, but don't OC till you flash the BIOS. Mine's at 760 right now, FSB isn't high enough to get it higher, i'm sure i could though. still 1.8 v :)

I posted a thread over at the Abit forum and another user said he was using the 2x1GB Team Group DDR2-677 modules and couldn't get over 300MHz FSB so i guess the board just needs a new BIOS at the moment. I'll wait and see before i buy any more RAM.

Team Xtreem PC2 5300 having no problems at 450 x 7 1:1 @ 4-4-4-8 w/2.2v Prime stable for hours. The RAM does DDR2 1000 on my P5W DH Deluxe, but i'm FSB limited here, and haven't tried other dividers yet :)
