THis is probably a very nooby question but I just have to ask. In speed fan which temp is your cpu temp 1,2, or 3. THx in advance.

One that rises the quickest when you load your CPU.
The latest 4.29 Speedfan also added support for internal temp reading: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=109755
You can't mistake that one for anything else b/c it will be labeled as 'Core'.

Just so I get this straight the one labled "core" is the cpu temp right?

Yep. That's the reading straight from the CPU core.
But out of those 3 temps you mentioned at first, one is also 'CPU temp'. That's reading you get via hardware monitoring chip on your mobo.
It should read a couple of degrees lower than 'Core' reading, but the behaviour should be more-less the same:
