View Full Version : How do i get higher score with lower clocks

This doesnt make sence to me before my mb died i was running @ 2.6ghz and 560/580 and getting a score of 5791 Now (i got the same mb as before) @2.4ghz and 553/554 im geting 6033 and @ 2.6ghz (same vid card settings) im scoreing 6094. What is going on ? how can a new Mb and Psu change my score that much expecialy since i cant oc it as far now ?

maybe less programs running in the backround now cause of fresh install

Nope it is the exact same install since i got the same MB i didnt have to reinstall just poped the hd back in

tighter timings on ram might be it. just my guesse. might also have something to do with board harmonics, I've heard intel boards like the number 16.6 and it's multiples.

Only guess but if card OC is too high it will pause/lower clock for some time like CPU when overheated - but strangely enough cards do that not only when overheated, but when just crapping out bcs of their limit, some kind of error check comes in and it can still work good while decreasing performance up to some point - after that card will just pause for some secs or show artifacts (that was true to some of my nvidia cards, but I think same for ATI).

Maybe a different version of drivers on the install CD?
Or did u just pop it in and go with it?
