Highest MCH voltage I can get is 1.89v for some reason, if I try to go any higher the voltage just drops suddenly to ~1.1v

Anyone else experience this?

yes you can, turn it down to 50k, downside is that you'll get more voltage increase per turn from pot downwards from 50k, 100k 25 turn pot = 12 turns 50k to 0 or 50k pot = 25 turns 50k to 0. Or use two 100k pots in parallel....
