TweakTown has a preview of RD600 (http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/931/1/page_1_introduction/index.html). Not much new info, but they had the FSB at 440. Commence drooling! :slobber:

Bah.. Why does it have to be red :P... completely kills my blue/black theme, nevertheless that board is gonna rock :woot:.

"Intel is in for a shock – along with the rest of us. We removed the X6800 Conroe processor from the socket and installed a more overclocker-friendly CPU, E6300 Core 2 Duo and that’s where the fun started.

We dropped the multiplier back to 6 and set the FSB to 440MHz and the system actually booted – that is 1.86GHz up to 2.64GHz – on a reference motherboard, with stock standard air cooling. While the system posted and loaded into Windows, it would hard lock as soon as you tried doing anything
stressful."

Ok I guess since its pre-production but what about people running 500fsb on i965 chipsets stable?

*drools...

Any idea on pricing compared to 570/590?

That reference board has the worst layout ever.

[Homer Simpson voice] Ummmmmmmmmmmm RD 600...aggggggghhhhhhh [/Homer Simpson voice]

I guess I am going to wait for these boards to come out before I assemble my system. I am looking at a several month time frame anyway. I just got my G-Skill DDR2 6400 HZ and my E6600 ships soon (I hope) from ClubIT. Hopefully the old axiom that "if it sounds too good to be true it probably isn't" does not apply here.

Buy a cheaper board to hold you off? Depending on when my E6600 ships, that's what I'm doing.

Edit: Aww, for the longest time, NCIX had 2 orders for my E6600 (though I paid once) and I was wondering if they were mistakenly thinking I ordered two (kept checking my Paypal >.<), but it got removed today...

I found that preview to be pretty useless in terms of any new information :/

Same here. They sound like they don't know anything about overclocking. They blamed their limit on temps, despite reaching a "successful" overclock with the same voltage (if voltage was constant, so were temps). And comparing an overclocked CPU to more expensive CPU at stock speeds? That what 12 year olds do.

if you up the clocks the CPU will run hotter even if Voltage stays the same.

more work = more heat

idle vs loaded temps all use same voltage.

but yes a 6300 at that speed isn't going to be all that hot

I see they have the correct rev of board. I wil request permission againt to show what I have.

This is my board, no trace rework and notice the white ram slots. Older boards have black ram slots and trace rework.

what revision is that Fugger?

cause Rev D has the Ram and PCIe Slots Black

Its an E

BTW, its real designation is RS600, not RD600

DFI may call it RD600 but the board you are looking at is not DFI.

thought the RD600 (or RS600) was going to have fully adjustable memory speeds, aka no dividers? Thought I read that somewhere...

Cant say for sure.

Mine says RS600 on the mobo itself. I could be wrong and a D was stuck in there elsewhere but I am yet to see it.

Yes, if you have the correct developer ASM tools you can adjust the memory with a slider in windows in 1Mhz steps.

For sure the NB asic is a RS600. SB600 for SB.

btw there's in the NB core a revision number?

The board was made last month and has a toe tag and NQS sticker with very specific information on it.

This information I cannot share, with the exception to toe tag information based upon observation.

Toe tags are installed at edge of board with internal 3D tests results run off the onboard video. The rest is confirmation of working subsystems.

If I remeber right RD600 is with out IGPU and the RS600 is with IGPU. The mobo you posted FUGGER has IGPU (RS600). ITs looks like its going to be the same as the RX480/RS480.

Sorry for the dubble post. A server error poped up when posting and theres 2 post now

Fugger, will Paralell port and Com port be on final board or is that just for referance boards?

Is that com or VGA? :p:

One thing I see that would be nice if other mobo makers do the same is a CrossFire using RS600. The 2D could be put on the IGPU and 3D on the CrossFire.

vga and HDMI

if you look VERY closely you see that the mobo tweaktown got is lacking the vga connector (small blue thing under the paralell port so i think it will be the same as with RS/RX/RD 480

Ah I see, thanks! :)

But finally a Paralell port, something I really miss on my Grouper.
