I have the opportunity to get some D9 Fatbody Ballistix cheap!

The catch is they're a 1GB kit.

With intel focussing on bus avoidance with high cache etc in this generation, will I get better high-end gaming performance for the next 6 months with the D9DQT or is a 2GB D9GMH kit a better choice for roughly 30% more $?

you will get better Intel performance the more ram you have the better.
just make sure your ram runs at FSB or better speeds
