What's wrong with using a keyboard

They should buy BonzyBuddy, that would definitely help them :p:

Leave it to MS to break something...
I don't know about that. Breaking something implies that it worked in the first place... :)

I don't know about that. Breaking something implies that it worked in the first place... :) Voice recognition worked great in word 2003.

Can't believe i'm actually gonna defend MS a little bit on this, but check this video out. It's the whole story...not just the :banana::banana::banana: up.

I've used ViaVoice and Dragon NaturallySpeaking before and if that was what the speech recognition picked up WITHOUT training then thats fairly impressive. If however, the standard few hours of training (talking set paragrahs to the computer so it gradulally knows your personal voice) was done for this then not very good.

Typing will be the fastest and most universal text input for a long time to come, for a number of reasons including background noise / database size / training time / real-time processing.

At the moment, speech is mainly an 'accesibility tool' for those that can't use a keyboard.

thats pretty funny, but also pretty strange, given even office xp (i think, or was it 2003?) had fairly decent voice recognition. not perfect, but a damn sight better than that

Here's a video from an Italian TV show.
The browsing functions of voice recognition seemed to work fairly well there.
