You guys do realize this is just for workstations and would work very poorly on Games.

Just a pair of 7950GTX's in SLI in a box with some more driver options for professional 3d cad applications enabled really.

how about the 1GB of mem per gpu? cant buy that in mainstream cards.
also, the SDI versions are completely different designs, they arent the same.

up to 1gb per GPU. "normal" is 512 per GPU and new PCB's might be so they dont die like the 7900's are doing?
Or some other reason.. new PCB's are usually a good thing though.

Sure...If you happen to have a 7900GTX 1GB ram bios file...Because if you only have the 7900GTX 512MB bios file, it wont work

Which if the two is more powerful, dual 5500s or dual 4500 X2s? Doesn't it only run Linux?
I imagine a much less expensive gaming system is much more powerful for gaming.

Why would you want to convert a 7xxx to a quadro? If anything your gaming performence would go DOWN

No equivalent from ATI, just the regular ATI FireGL internal cards.

"According to Nvidia, a node can achieve up to 64x full scene anti-aliasing (FSAA), deliver a performance of up to 148 megapixels on 16 synchronized digital-output channels and eight HD SDI channels. The firm says that the fill rate reaches 80 billion pixels/s while the geometry performance is rated at seven billion vertices/s."
:slobber: :slobber: :slobber: :slobber:
u could buy a pretty decent sports car for that kind of money. Or, according to Nvidia, you can have 12 mega pixel hi-def video, and a card (actually it's more like a series of cards) that will run every PC game due for release in the next century.
The cheapest model starts at $17,500, and it just goes up from there! When they're released in September, we'll probably give a few away. Or, maybe we'll buy a house instead!
The only problem with owning one of these cards is you'd need about 20 of the latest CPUs in order to feed it data quick enough that the CPU wouldn't become a massive bottleneck. Of course, they're designed for integrated graphics computers and engineers, not really gaming!
