I see much talk about this and while using the following setup:

Asus P5W DH Deluxe
Pentium 4 840D 3.2 Extreme Edition
4GB OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400
BFG 7800GTX OC
2 x Plextor PX-716a DVD Burner
2 x 400GB HDDs
2 x 500GB HDD
SB X-Fi XtremeMusic
Onboard 10/100/1000 NIC

with nothing changed other than setting the Ram to DDR-800, CPUz reports my FSB:DRAM as 1:2. How can i set it to 1:1?

I am a newbie, I'll admit it.

Use the 533 option when you got 266 FSB in bios and you will be at 1:1, or just use the seond from the top divider in bios (I think that's the right one).

Doesn't that HURT performance rather than help it by lowering it to 533?

Yes but you asked how to set it @ 1:1 :D

So i am better off leaving at DDR2-800 with a 1:2 FSB/DRAM ratio? Or should I set it to 533 1:1 and work on the timings?

Do some benchmarking and see. Probably 1:2.

agreed. 1:2 will give you (not a whole lot, but some nonetheless) more performance than 1:1 with tight-ish timings.

agreed, I tried it with mine @ 533, 667, and 800 with various timings and the 800 alway came out faster in Super Pi and in Si Soft Sandra

Hey Burner! Glad you're enjoyin that new ASUS. I bought the Asus off of ya.

What is the FSB on that Extreme? I'm guessing 1066. If it is you'd be better off with ddr2 800. IF it isn't you caould probably get away with 667 and OC... which I'm sure you'll do...

You must be dying with the heat that that things puts off with this heatwave in NY!!! LOL

Can someone do me a favour and tell me all the ratios available on this board ?

Can it do 2:1 if needed
