See here:-

ftp://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/...luxe%20Wifi-AP/

When unzipped though, it appears to be dated *before* the 0403 BIOS.

Maybe it allows FSB > 500 ?

Hi sierra_bound

Fantastic results !! Damn the Kentsfield seems to really like the P5B Deluxe. It really is looking like a great long-term-keeper-board to go from Conroe to Kentsfield.

Three quicky questions please:-

-> are you running at stock Vcore on air cooler - if so which cooler ?

-> whats the CPU-Temp at full O/C Load ?

-> what Power Supply are you running ?

Many thx,
Ben

VCore is 1.4V. I'm using Tuniq Tower 120

Load temps running quad-prime get into high 60's while running small FFT's. I think Asus Probe readings are too high. Core temp readings are about 10 degrees lower.

PSU is OCZ PowerStream 600W. I've had this PSU for a couple of years. Have used it on numerous builds without problems.

That's cool, but Anandtech reported that this new bios raised FSB max to 500 weeks ago. I didn't know you didn't know or I coulda told ya! ;p

By the way the link is malformed, the correct one is:

Well, it is good to hear that these mobo makers are making attempts at trying to patch some of these OC quirks. Hopefully we will soon know the fruits of Asus's efforts with this new bios.

this board is decent, but too expensive... and i am sure that RD600 will be a better OCer

Question: today Tom's Hardware posted an article suggesting that SpeedStep couldn't be used while the Core 2 Duo was overclocked. Is this true?! (they were using a P5B Deluxe mobo so I figured I'd ask in here).

I thought SpeedStep just changed the multi downwards and left the FSB alone. So why would it not be usable on a CPU with an upwardly locked multi like, say, the E6600?
