I am getting a retail Conroe 6400 with retail cooler, Gigabyte DS3, and OCZ Platinum DD2R-800 memory.

After I get all of the above, what do I do to overclock to 3ghz?

Is it as easy as changed the front side bus to 400mhz in the BIOS?

Step-by-step guide/link would be appreciated. The last build I overclocked with a Celeron 300a, so I'm a real newb.

I just want to get to around 3ghz, nothing to aggressive.

I get all my parts by this Friday, so I need the step by step guide for then. Thanks!

Very first step you do is try to get into BIOS and set your VDIMM to +3V. You're not going to get anywhere without getting your RAM working. (I've got the same stuff.) Only use 1 stick if you have to.

I would love to see a DS3 overclock guide myself.

i'm using the DS3 with G.Skill HZ. I haven't set it up yet though. What voltage should i use on this RAM and should i just leave the timings at SPD if i'm going for 430-450 fsb?
