You probably already know it but some Intel chipsets (i945GM/PM) will be officially SLI certified and there is probably more to come:

isn't it just the mobility sli thing wich has nothing to do with performance sli ? (onboard graphic taking over dedicated nvidia chips for power saving)
EDIT : i found the link
here (http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.matbe.com%2Factualite s%2F13888%2Fnvidia-sli-power%2F&langpair=fr%7Cen&hl=fr&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools)
yea that rumor is for laptop chipset.

Yes finally!
nVidia has to stay in the game and work with Intel!
This should be in the news section.

i think it would be more difficult for NVidia to sell their chispsets if intel had native Sli support on desktops (for performance), this news is good for them to sell mobility graphic chipsets.
i doubt they will expand this to desktop or only if they had some kind of arrangement with intel to compensate the loss

Nice to see Nvidia and Intel getting more along with eachother. :D X6800 + SLI with official support always sounds nice.

I've said it before and it bears repeating. Nvidia will make more money selling dual cards to 975 owners than they will lose in people who choose 975 over the 590 or NF4 on Conroe. Moreover, when you consider that in the life of a normal user, at least one gpu upgrade occurs before the life of the mobo is done, there is a good chance they will make their money twice over if someone upgrades again with dual cards 18-24mo down the line.
It's the right thing to do.
It makes chipsets compete on features and best in class.
It sells more gpu's and opens further gpu sales to already existing chipsets.
It allows pure same platform comparisons of CF and SLI - which probably bodes well for SLI.

one of mi contacts told me that every 945 and 965 can support sli and x-fire the problem is loyalties so maybe not all will oficially suport them but with a hacked driver it should be ready to go :)
