"According to a Taiwan cartography card merchant news disclosed that, ATi decides the Xilleon image processor union to Radeon in the GPU product, in view of HTPC and Digital Home market application, because in existing ATi has not been able to support 1080p to the low step product the AVIVO high clear image decoding ability, facing Blu-Ray and the HD-DVD image application which soon appears on the market appears has a mind incapably, therefore the ATi hope borrows Xilleon the image processor technology to make up in X1K to insufficiency of the low step product."

what i understand form it (i think)

Soon Blu-ray and HD DVD are coming and the current lower value card ATi has arent capable todo 1080P with Avivo.
There for ATi is gonna use the Xilleon image processor to give them cards a boost so they will be able todo 1080P.

if this Xilleon thing is a seperate chip on the PCB or something thats gonna be in the GPu i dunno.

ATI site has an explenation of what Xillion is etc:
http://www.ati.com/products/xilleon220/index.html

it also compaires what ATI products with a Xillion chip are capable of compaired to the competitor.
Ofc alot of it is pure ATI PR but this chip looks like a nice thing.

add them to rage theatre 650 boards and they'd be nice little htpc tuner/decoder cards.
