Petra...you are on the ball.
I look at your products, and realize that half of what we want here get's carried at your shop.
IE - Pentosin G11, Yates SM, etc.
Kudos.
P.S. Can we work out a shipping plan to Canada?

Petra's Tech Shop does accept international orders. Just contact Quoc Ngo (First email) and let him know what you want. Paypal probably works best and make sure your account is verified. I got my package from PTS 2 weeks ago, I'm located in the Netherlands.

Yea, I have ordered from them a couple of times already, just email Quoc for what you need, and paypal for the payment. I've been using USPS Global Express from them, thats $24USD up to 6lbs, and shipping time is around 3 business days from Petra to Toronto. Great service IMO. :)

Good vinegar rules, and not just for salads or cleaning :)
You can also do a lot of ther interesting stuff w. food. For example, you can poison people with parsley, apple seeds, and other foods you wouldnt think of... coca cola will eath through metal like a hot knife through butter... nutmeg is a powerful psychotropic - and so is sugar, incidentally (the british army used to have very strict rules about how much sugar a soldier was allowed)... pure caffeine causes a shutdown of the nervous system followed by death... citrus acid is used to clean thermal interface materials...
I could go on but I'm too lazy ^_^

Wow, thanks everybody! :D
While I'm here... a few quick notes:
The DDC pumps and tops: We do have a few DDC+'s in the warehouse that I'm mainly using for testing purposes. We'll be adding them to the site (and obtaining more) once the first run of our own DDC tops has been completed (may be a little while as I still need to have prototypes made).
New stuff to watch for:
- Pentosin G11 (blue) in 4oz bottles
- Pentosin G12 (red) in 2oz and 4oz bottles
- AM2 mounting brackets for existing MP-05's
- AM2-compatible MP-05's (Pro, Pro LE, and SP LE)
- Other stuff that's not coming to mind at the moment...
Issues with the AquaXtreme 50Z Pump: Apparently, a majority of our last shipment of 50Z's had the molex pins wired improperly by the manufacturer and, as a result, they try to draw from the PSU's 5V rail. If you received a 50Z from us which does not start, check to make sure that the RED wire from the pump is connecting to the YELLOW (+12V) wire coming from your PSU. If it's not, then you should remove the pin/wire from the pump's molex connector and move it to the appropriate position. Once this is done, everything should be fine. I've already gone through and fixed all of the 50Z's which we have remaining in inventory.

That red Pentosin looks appealing! it would totally clash with my case color scheme.

He just needs some more pressure from his customers to switch to ThermoChill rads... especially after the release of performance figures over the past few days, then he truly will be stocking the best of the best in every aspect ;)
So currently the Thermochill rads beat all the other rads out there?
Marci
08-01-2006, 08:02 AM
See link in my sig...
See link in my sig...
I see, those are good performance numbers based on what i understand.
Your post also stated that the 120.3 scales down accordingly from 120.2 and the 120.1 so if the 120.3 has about 6% flow restriction the 120.2 has about 3% ? but cooling power on the liquid is reduced also.
Marci
08-01-2006, 08:16 AM
No... altho size changes, the figure doesn't. The PA120.1 would still offer 6% flow restriction comparatively to the other rads afaik... as would the 120.2. Radiical has been sent a 120.2 to test and compare with his 120.3 results, which should hopefully confirm this.
Same goes for the rest... so a BI GT120 would still pose a 17% flow restriction (roughly)
@Marci
ok got that.
say basin on your system config how much temp difference would it be by using the 120.1 and 120.2 from the 120.3 ?
My CPU case is quite small ( coolermaster Praetorian 720 ) and i dont think i can fit a 120.2 inside my case but if the performance gap of the 120.1 and 120.2 is acceptable then il go with the 120.2 and mount it extrenally instead.

I like petra's shop and the pricing of the products.
I had some minor problems on my ordering though..
1st Order - Pump not working. Had to RMA. (wire was on the wrong side of the molex connector)
2nd Order - mp-01 gpu block with wrong barbs..
nothing serious though.. and would still recommend petra's. My water cooling has been delayed for a week now and still counting.. I hope that those replacement barbs come soon... They said that there was some shipping mistake from the manufacturer.. so its not their fault. but still, im a little pissed off because of the delay of my parts.
so far my kit is complete.. only missing is the 1/2' replacement barbs. so until they send me that part.. i wont be able to start my water cooling project.

from the looks of those things.. it doesnt cost much. but so far ive actually have spent around $380 on those stuff (including taxes and shipping)

Okay, well, I got the 4oz. bottles of Pentosin G11 and G12 posted... Interestingly, the Pentosin G12 (which is sold in the automotive market as being Red Pentosin) is very much a purple-ish pink color. The good news, however, is that it is very UV reactive :) (I'll add UV photos to the store's website once I get a chance to take photos late at night here).
As for the cost of the pump tops, that's something that I really don't know quite yet as I haven't gotten a quote for the prototypes. I'll keep you guys updated on how things are going, though.
Again, it may be a little while before we begin stocking Thermochill radiators... At this point it's mainly due to financial limitations (we've managed to do a heck of a lot of inventory expansion since January and it takes quite a bit of juggling to pull it off successfully) and the fact that we aren't really thrilled about getting things from Danger Den due to their wonderful reseller pricing structure (note the sarcasm there... heh  ). Nevertheless, we will have them at some point in the near future.
syne_24: Sorry we didn't really get a chance to chat (I was out taking care of a few things and walked in just as you were leaving) but I'm glad that you and Quoc had an opportunity to talk for a while--he's a nice guy.

Yes but also raises risk of fraud as well.
QFT
Most SMB's (Small/Medium Businesses), are going to be wary about international CC Fraud. 90% of their Fraud is of the "Card Not Present" type. I can see why they do it.
It may be an inconvience, but would you want them to go out of business, hence you losing what appears to be a great shop, due to Fraud (Yes, it's that big of a problem)?
Maybe he can put a policy for international buyers that the money form the card must be transfred to his store account b4 he ships them out. or that wont be possble ?

raises the risk of fraud...
well i would think that most business has the risk of fraud,
but of course there are still ways to check credit card validity
and the conveinience to us international buyers would be nice

checking for credit card validity like what cooltechnica does:
1. process my order, send me email confirming this...
2. send me another email: order on hold, reason international credit card
need to check validity like what is stated in their policy
3. so ask me to wait and confirm what they send to my credit card, 10 banking days on my end, confirmed charge of $26.5 from cooltech
4. emailed cooltechnica confirming receipt of credit charges, order back on track
5. got another email from cooltechnica saying 1 of my items was back ordered, so have to wait till this week again...

As for the cost of the pump tops, that's something that I really don't know quite yet as I haven't gotten a quote for the prototypes.
Will you share with us perhaps the direction that your prototype is going? For example, will it be more like the Radical tops, the alphacool tops or something totally different? :D

Well, that's an interesting idea... though it really isn't proving much of anything unless they either don't tell you the total beforehand or they tack on some small, arbitrary amount which you then confirm (a-la PayPal account verification). Something to consider, though.

Externally, the design more resembles the Radiical top in that it should fit with the pump (rather than increasing the length and width of the pump like the Alphacool top does) and it only has one inlet and one outlet (no confusion--top inlet only). That, however, is where the similarities to the Radiical top stop. Internally, I'm trying to keep as many design features as I can (within reason) from the stock Delphi top but the first prototype will employ a 10mm ID inlet channel (same ID as a 1/2" barbed G1/4" thread fitting). I'll likely go through at least two different prototypes, playing around with the inlet and outlet channels to find the best balance between head pressure loss and flowrate increase. I'll post some screenshots once I'm closer to prototyping.

cooltech did not give me the amount beforehand, had to wait for 10 banking days before said $ amount showed up in my credit statement...

A'ight, I ordered some things today from you guys, without realizing I had ISF in paypal, so it's an echeck order  8 days till it clears.
Edit: I'm speechless....received a kind email today saying that Petra/Alex had notified (shipping? sales? a freind?) that I belonged to XS (apparently this means we're trustworthy :p), and my order is shipping before the payment clears...
If that's not service and customer care, I don't know what the hell is.
If anyone ever asks where to get something that I know you have in stock, petrastechshop.com is going to be the first place I suggest...
(Did I tell you I'm now going to be an advertising whore? :p)

AquaXtreme products are on order... We've finally received shipping confirmantion, so those should be here within a week or so (with AM2 mounting brackets). These guys rock. I ordered an Aquaextreme GPU waterblock and one of the barbs seems to be not sealing correctly. No matter how much I tighten the clamps, water leaks out. These GUYS went out of their ways to try to accommodate me.
May I suggest some watercooling accessories like hose clamps to stop all the water from coming out when someone wants to change waterblocks without refilling and bleeding? Also, some inline filters would be nice. Performance-PCS offers an inline filter, but its so freakn restrictive that dual DDC+ running serial could not force water thru that thing.

Self-sealing quick-connect couplings (http://colder.com/asp_main/NonSpillProducts.asp). Yeah, I've thought about carrying those but they're rather expensive and can be pretty restrictive as well.
