That has been discredited, Intel owns something liek 60% of the GFX market, buying ATi would turn them into a downright monoply, it would be stopped by the US govtmnt and other governments. Plus the orginal source is highly unreliable

Haha it'll be funny if the government actually back them up like they did in China to Petro China, although it's government owned. Then we'd be seeing stuff going towards HL2, global domination by Intel!

next step Intel attempts to release a competitive graphic card to compete with the upcoming G80 and R600, only to be beaten by a fair margin. Then Six months later they will release a graphics card that can only be bested by a Graphics chip company that has unlimited access to their OWN fab.

This is looking sweet..
the title is very misleading tbh, and being from the e-sports community its a bit off, it should read something like "Intel Sponsors another professional gaming team" which they did
But yea they Intel sponsors a fair amount of teams compared to their competitor AMD, but always nice to see them pickup a new team especially EG who are a very great group of guys

Where's the intel wc?
watercooler? Actually, i remeber seeing threads here where intel was experimenting with self contained cpu watercoolers at the end of single cores life. When they couldnt reach 4Ghz like originally anticipated with netburst. Then they went dual core instead.

I think they're still playing with it, I remember reading an article somewhere (pretty sure it was ExtremeTech.com) where they tested some systems that Intel sent to them using self-contained watercooling.
Here it is...
