Looking for something, dont know what

im looking for something that i can use to connect to a wireless internet signal so i can browse forums while im at school. something like a PSP. anyone have any recommendations, i dont want to pay for internet per month, i just want to be able to connect to the internet and browse. i dont want to spend that much so cheaper is better :)

Well, I have a PSP, the web browser sucks. It breaks a lot of sites, and anything with a lot of images/flash crashes as well.

The only thing that will get you the "full web experience" is a notebook.

I assume your on a budget, so I would look on ebay and craigslist for a cheap notebook in your area. That way you can go look at it and test it before buying.

Bring a linux live CD(like Knoppix) and test the thing out if the installed OS is fubar.

the closest thing to discreet would be a PSP, DS, or a PDA.

But more importantly, WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO SKIP PHYSICS?

Those we're always my favorite classes. Lots of cool stuff you can learn from the prof by sticking around after class. Every physics prof. I've talked to found watercooling and phase on CPUs extremely interesting.

ok not physics in specific just classes in general that are blow off stupid classes that id rather browse XS during. how is DS for web browsing

well, just like the PSP a lot of sites(with lots of images) will break.

Threads with lots of pics will not display properly, if at all. I would go for a PDA if your only wanting to browse with it.

remeber to try to type in a few edit boxes. Typing with the PSP sucks. At least w/ the DS and PDA you can use a stylus to type and navigate.

Plus DS is cheaper. I'm not sure how bad it would be on XS with lots of pics though b/c it has less RAM.

PDA definitely, or just bum someone's PSP during class and attempt that.

I use my PSP for web browsing while i'm on the go and have never had a real big problem with it other then pages not loading to there not being enough memory. I'd say go for a PDA though, i've started bringing mine instead of the PSP (other then when I want to play games in clases :p)

The UMPC costs like 2G, and it's basically a portable computer.
The X-Boy hasn't come out yet.

I use my moto Q (on it right now actually), but no wifi....and minisd wifi cards are a few weeks away. That said, this 'dinky' 320x240 screen really does the job quite well...so I'd say go for a PDA--cheaper, no monthly fees, slightly larger screen (typically), faster proc too. :)
