I'm back again with my neverending question stream :p
I've found a barebone system with a badaxe, case, and 600W PSU for $300 (If anyone wants that link just let me know, to lazy to dig it up right now). From what i've read about the badaxe, it's a OK motherboard with decent OCing. But, at the same time, many people are just waiting for newer boards. I do plan on OCing my E6600 once I get it. This deal just seems hard to beat. If I do wait i'll be buying around the end of August (just for a referance).
Is it worth getting now or should I just wait for a newer board?

Depends what the brand/model the power supply is imho.

First of all is the board a rev 304? because if its not you have some modding to do. Also wat kind of power supply and case?

PSU is a "Ultra X-Finity 600-Watt SLI Ready Power Supply"
Case is a "Ultra Blue Aluminus ATX Full-Tower Case"
Not sure on the rev, give me a sec.
EDIT: Rev isn't said, but by the following i'm assuming it isn't Conroe ready:
The D975XBXLKR motherboard is based on the Intel 975X Express Northbridge chipset. It supports Intel Pentium 4 Extreme Edition, Pentium D, Pentium 4, and 05B Processors

Unless they can guarantee that it's a rev. 304 mobo, it's not worth it if you want this for conroe. but that's not a bad deal overall...

For those who want it, link:

And I think i'll just get the case deal I was looking at (Same case, black, 550W PSU). And who knows, I could snag a good deal on something at the computer show tommorow. I'll have to keep that deal in mind though me thinks.

That sounds like an alright deal. The case looks a little cramped, the psu certainly isn't the greatest, and there's no guarantee that the mobo will be compatable with Conroe.
I'd get it anyways.

yeah i saw that deal on tiger also.. pretty nifty deal actually
but my email thingy only said it was a 350w psu not one of those poopy ultra-x 600 watters.
for 300 though thats a good deal.
im guessing here but NOW i would believe that ALL the BadAxes are 304's
wouldnt you agree. especially from places like tiger direct.

I'll call them tommorow and see if they know what rev they are.

That is a good deal, why not make a backup system with it? throw in a e6300 and a few other low end products and you will have a system to talk on the forums while you mod your higher end computer. If not, sell the motherboard to someone else.
