"I don't want to reveal any plans at the moment because we want to keep a number of surprises up our sleeve," he told the magazine. "We will ensure we are good value, and we'll do that through having a variety of pricing on games, a variety of pricing on console offers."
i dont really understand what thats supposed to mean..
do they mean like that the console price could go as low as nintendos? because if so im definitely picking up a xbox360 and 200 dollars for a system like that is AMAZING
and are they talking about lowering prices on their games as well? im not quite sure what they mean maybe someone can clarify this..

I think the "suprises" would be more along the lines of a 360+game+accy bundle. Maybe some lower game prices.

lol, yeah.
Just for the record, I'm buying a Wii when they come out.
I spend plenty of money on my PC to play "more advanced" games, so the Wii makes perfect sense for its purpose: A system to play cheap, quick, "non-gamer" games for company.

I'm not expecting to be surprised. Xbox360 is already a year behind the others in graphics and technology...so why shouldn't it drop?

I wouldn't say that as from what has been seen the PS3 uses a pumped up 7800GTX or slighlty underclocked 7900GT

You don't know much about what is actually in the consoles do you?
The Wii is only slightly more powerful than the original xbox, although it was never designed to be the graphical mosnsters like the 360 and PS3, so thats fine.
The PS3 is using a G70 and the Cell which could be gimped by low yields.
The 360 has a DX10 graphics chip and a full 3 ppc cores. Due for a process shrink as well which would enable MS to lower the price.
Each console is desgined for seperate purposes though so the technology is bound to be different. The Wii is supposed to be a non-agressive, "friendly" console for non-gamers and gamers alike. The PS3 is more like a media center with gaming ability, the Cell is perfect for that role and the inclusion of Blu-ray also points it in that direction. The 360 conforms more towards the old standard for consoles in that it is designed to be very powerful but is only really marketed towards the serious gamer.

lets see...
1) opensourse platform
2) 100% backwards game support
3) under $300
4) the Usual wonderful support community
5) the ablity to interact with Nintendo programmers and hardware Designers.
that equals lame how?

Because it doesn't use 400 watts of power and there isn't a chance of one of the cores in its CPU blowing during use rendering the console useless...I mean, who DOESN'T want that

You're right. The wii only has two games.
I'll probably get a Wii. The remote looks like it's damn fun for sports games. I have my PC to play games with better graphics, and I don't need a Bluray player. I don't even have an HD TV, so it looks like it's the Wii for me.
I doubt MS has any real surprises, maybe a slightly lower price or something.

It is more than that, but that is enough to be the most succesful console.

omg there are normal controllers too:rolleyes:
with EA dropping most of PS3 games and microsoft coming out with an HD-DVD drive there is no reason to go for PS3:p:
wii gonna rock and i don´t know some of you guys can have something against yoshi, mario and co, i bet you never played these games. super mario 64 was VERY good, also mario kart 64 and mario party:party: . these games are made to give you FUN FUN FUN, who cares about the kiddy figures or bad graphics, these are games made for fun only, i mean it doesn´t matter if you have an wario and luigi playing basketball or normal man in mini-games both makes fun :D

I didn't mean that as a bad thing...
Think of swinging the remote around to swing the saber in an actual duel.... It'd be an insane concept in first person. You just don't get much more immersive than that.
That alone would honestly be a better experience than anything I've seen upcoming for both the PS3 or X360.

Can't wait to play Super Smash Bros: Brawl for the Wii. Super Smash Bros. was my only game for Nintendo 64, didn't need any other games.

To be honest, Games are losing the fun factor.
I have more fun playing Contra than I have playing say call of duty or whatever.
I could really give a didly squat about super excellent realistic graphis. Give me a console that looks decent and has tons of support for games that are ACTUALLY FUN and i'm good to go.
Enough with the obsession about 40 processors, and blue ray and god knows what other useless crap. I don't play games to marvel at their graphics, I wanna have fun.
and I think Wii will offer just that, FUN. Get you into the action.
I played zelda non stop till i beat it. I can't say that for any recent game.
