I've got an Acetal Maze4 GPU coming in, but it's got 3/8 barbs. I figured I'd just replace them with a spare set from my old Maze4 or TDX. I've heard (damned if I can remember where) that DD switched its barb threading to G1/4 a while back. Anybody know when that was?

The new Acetal was purchased in April 2006. The TDX and old Maze4 date to December 2004. Same threads, or will I need new barbs?

If the latter, any recommendations for 1/2" ID G1/4 barbs for an Acetal?

they wont be 3/8, theyll be 9/16UNF.

I'm sorry, I'm clinically retarded. What I meant was that the guy shipping the block to me used 3/8" ID barbs, but I run a 1/2" ID loop.

So what you're saying is that DD's old threading is 9/16UNF -- which means I'm in the market for new barbs. Any reason to pick one brand of 1/2" ID G1/4 barbs over the other?

9/16 UNF you can get from DD or Cooltechnica.

Our big favourite for G1/4 are eddy's barbs, they cost the same as getting a pair from DangerDen, but youll be waiting 7-10 days because they'll be coming from eastern europe.

Hello Mark, Thank you for sending the pictures, makes it easier to identify the fittings. All of the fittings on the right are the 9/16-18 thread High Flow. (new low prof maze4 GPU, june 2006 from petra's tech) The ones on the left are G1/4 thread(mag 2 & RBX, june 2006 from DD store), and are either High Flow or Perfect seal. I hope that this makes sense. Best regards, Kathi Danger Den

had the same problems also cause they shipped perfect seal barbs instead of the high flow ones, making 7/16 tubing a chore to get on em...
